Cambridgeshire Highways will shortly be carrying out local highways improvement works along Cambridge Road, Hardwick from Monday, 21st February 2022 for a period of two weeks. The proposed improvements will aim to reduce vehicle speeds travelling through the village; an initiative put forward by Hardwick Parish Council.
The proposed traffic calming measures include installation of buildouts forming a priority-working system at both approaches between Egremont Road junction and Kesters Close junction along Cambridge Road. Associated signage and road markings will also be implemented. Please find the attached plan for reference.
To ensure works are carried out safely and efficiently, a two-way traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the works. The works on-site will be carried out during the day between 07:30 am and 06:30 pm. Depending on the weather, and to stay on programme, the contractor may also have to work weekends. Permit reference number – CL900SCHEMES-CA.
Access will be maintained for properties and businesses within the scheme extents, however, there might be some delays. Traffic management operatives will be on site to assist you.
Please note that due to the nature of our works, there will be some noise generated when carrying out the works. This is unfortunately unavoidable; however, we will endeavour to complete them in a timely manner in order to minimise disruption to the residents.
We thank you in advance for your co-operation and understanding during this time.
